iOS & iPadOS

Tips and troubleshooting specific to Edgeless apps on iPhone and iPad.

Notifications

If you're not receiving notifications (used by apps like Random Reminders and Better Sleep):

1. Go to Settings > Notifications > [App Name]
2. Make sure Allow Notifications is enabled
3. Choose your preferred alert style (Banners, Alerts, or Badge)
4. Enable Sounds if you want audio alerts

Scheduled Notifications Not Firing

• Check Settings > Focus — a Focus mode may be silencing notifications
• Make sure Background App Refresh is enabled: Settings > General > Background App Refresh
• Low Power Mode can delay notifications — disable it temporarily to test

Storage & Data

Clearing App Cache

1. Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage
2. Find the Edgeless app
3. Tap Offload App (keeps data) or Delete App (removes everything)
4. Reinstall from the App Store

iCloud

Edgeless apps use their own cloud sync rather than iCloud. Your data syncs through your Edgeless account, not your Apple ID storage.

Permissions

Edgeless apps may request these permissions:

Location	Lighthouses	Log lighthouse visit locations
Notifications	Random Reminders, Better Sleep	Scheduled alerts and reminders

To manage permissions: Settings > Privacy & Security > [Permission Type]

Apple Sign-In

• Requires iOS 13 or later
• Your email may be hidden if you chose "Hide My Email" during sign-up
• To see which apps use your Apple ID: Settings > [Your Name] > Password & Security > Apps Using Apple ID

Updating Apps

• Automatic — Settings > App Store > App Updates (toggle on)
• Manual — Open App Store > tap your profile icon > scroll to updates

Minimum Requirements

• iPadOS 16.0 or later
