Getting Started with Anti-Bias Trainer

Anti-Bias Trainer helps you recognize and reduce cognitive biases through education, journaling, interactive exercises, and personalized learning. It's a private, judgment-free space to understand how biases affect your daily decisions.

What You Can Do

  • Browse the Bias Library — Learn about dozens of cognitive biases with real-world examples
  • Take the Awareness Quiz — Get a baseline score and personalized recommendations
  • Set a Weekly Focus — Pick one bias to watch for throughout your week
  • Journal Your Observations — Record moments when you catch biases in action
  • Complete Exercises — Work through scenario-based challenges with role-reversal perspectives
  • Track Your Progress — See your improvement over time with assessment comparisons

First Launch

  1. Download and open the app from the App Store or Google Play
  2. No account needed — you can start browsing the bias library immediately
  3. Take the quiz (optional) — The bias awareness quiz takes about 4 minutes and gives you a starting score
  4. Browse biases — Tap any bias to read its definition, real-world examples, and related biases
  5. Sign in when ready — To journal, track progress, and sync across devices, sign in with Google or Apple

Your First Week

Day 1: Take the awareness quiz and explore 2-3 biases that interest you.

Day 2-3: Set a weekly focus bias from the library. The app will prompt you to watch for it.

Day 4-5: When you notice the focus bias in your life, open the app and journal about it. Describe the situation, how you felt, and what happened.

Day 6-7: Try a scenario exercise for your focus bias. These are short interactive challenges that help you practice recognizing bias in realistic situations.

Free vs. Premium

The free tier gives you full access to the bias library and the awareness quiz — no account required.

Premium ($9.99/month or $79.99/year) adds journaling, progress tracking, exercises, weekly focus with push notifications, and personalized learning recommendations.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of It

  • Be honest in your journal — This is a private space. The more specific your entries, the more patterns you'll notice.
  • Don't try to learn every bias at once — Pick one per week and really watch for it.
  • Retake the quiz periodically — The assessment comparison shows real, measurable growth.
  • Use push notifications — The weekly focus reminders help you stay mindful throughout the day.
