Complete an Exercise Scenario

Kenji, a retired mechanical engineer, treats bias-spotting like debugging a machine. He wants to complete a Dunning-Kruger exercise and see the situation from both perspectives through the role-reversal feature.

Steps

  1. Tap the Exercises tab or navigate from your focus bias detail page
  2. Browse available scenarios — exercises are organized by bias category and difficulty
  3. Select a scenario to read the situation description
  4. Choose your response from the multiple-choice options — pick the one you believe is the least biased
  5. Review the explanation — the app explains why each option reflects or avoids bias
  6. View the role reversal — see the same scenario from a different perspective to build empathy and deeper understanding

What to Expect

Each exercise takes 3-4 minutes. You get immediate feedback on your choice with a detailed explanation. The role-reversal perspective is what sets these exercises apart — seeing both sides helps you internalize the bias pattern rather than just memorize the "right answer."

Tips

  • Read all options carefully before choosing — the biased option often sounds reasonable
  • Pay attention to the role-reversal perspective, even if you got the answer right
  • Retake exercises you got wrong — your exercise history tracks improvement over time
  • Exercises pair well with your weekly focus bias for reinforcement
