Farrah — Marketing Director Returning from a Break

Background

Farrah is a Middle Eastern woman in her early 40s and a marketing director who used to be a voracious reader but hasn't finished a book in two years. She misses the words she used to know and is trying to rebuild. She dropped off after a product launch consumed her life and is returning with a 2-month gap.

How Farrah Uses the App

Before her break, Farrah had an 18-day streak and 8 completed clusters with 41 words at Mastered level — focused on Work and Descriptions domains. When she returned, her streak counter showed 0 with "Streak Lost" visible. Her review queue had ballooned to 47 words due after two months away.

She opened the app, saw the 47-word queue, sighed, and started a 10-word review batch. She got 7 of 10 right, rating 3 as "Again." Her streak incremented to 1.

Her domain heatmap was still intact — heavy Work and Descriptions focus with no Academic clusters attempted. Her Basic Subscription had kept her data safe throughout the break.

She used AI Writing Suggestions on a brand strategy doc before her break: replacing "innovative" with "pioneering" and "good" with "compelling."

Goals

  • Rebuild the vocabulary she had as an active reader
  • Use her learned words in marketing copy and brand strategy documents
  • Re-engage gradually — the review system lets her ease back in without losing her history

Tier and Platform

Farrah uses the Basic Subscription on iOS. Her return validated the subscription: all her progress was waiting for her, and the review system presented her overdue words in manageable batches rather than an overwhelming wall.
