Amara — AC-06

Persona family: The Recurrent Sufferer Tier: Pro (upgraded from Plus) Platform: Web — iPhone Safari (mobile) Experience stage: Upgrading

Who She Is

Amara is in her early 30s, data-curious and precise. She reads her insights like a scientist and wants uncertainty stated honestly — she has no use for tools that state certainties her data doesn't support. Her attacks cluster around deadline weeks, and her frustration is specific: guessing which techniques actually help her.

She is the app's Plus-to-Pro journey: she upgraded when she hit the five-episode insight minimum, because she finally had data worth understanding.

What She Wants

  • See her own patterns, not generic advice. "Try to sleep better" is not an insight. "Caffeine plus deadlines appears in four of your last six episodes" is.
  • Know which techniques correlate with faster recovery. For her, that's the extended exhale — but she wants the app to show it, not assert it.
  • Honest uncertainty. If the data is thin, the app should say so.

How She Uses the App

Amara has nine episodes in two months, most clustering around deadline weeks. She logs on the train home, and her reflection field is two or three sentences most times.

She upgraded to Pro once she hit the five-episode minimum. Her insights show "caffeine + deadlines" as her most common trigger pair, and the extended exhale correlating with shorter episodes for her. She reads both as hypotheses to test, not verdicts — which is exactly how the app frames them.

What She Needs from the App

  • Insights computed only from her data. No cross-user benchmarking, no population averages — her patterns, her history.
  • Uncertainty as a feature. "Appears in 4 of your last 6 episodes," never "you always." The app must not state certainties her data doesn't support.
  • No diagnostic language. She wants patterns, not verdicts. Clinical-sounding claims would break her trust immediately.
  • A real minimum-data gate. Five episodes before insights unlock — enough data for the patterns to be real ones.

Design Implications

Amara is the Pro payoff and the app's differentiator in one person: her own data, her own relief. Her standard — honest uncertainty, no diagnostic language, no benchmarking — is the standard the insights feature is held to. If insights ever overstate what the data shows, they lose the one user who reads them most carefully.
