Tessa — Impulsive Advice Seeker
Background
Tessa is a mixed-race 24-year-old graphic designer who downloaded the app after a spectacular first-apartment disaster. She scrolls fast, bookmarks everything, reads the stories before the actual advice — "the messy parts are where the real lessons are." She has not posted advice yet: "I'm here to learn, not teach."
How Tessa Uses the App
Tessa discovered the app after searching "things I wish I knew before signing a lease." The self-selection onboarding message hooked her immediately.
She bookmarked 23 pieces of advice in her first two weeks, mostly in Finance and Home/DIY. She reads an average of 8 advice posts per session, always sorts by "most stories," and has upvoted 31 posts — never downvoted anything ("who am I to judge?").
She reads sessions in bursts — lots of bookmarks, then quiet, then another burst. She uses the search bar to find advice on specific topics as apartment disasters or life situations come up.
Goals
- Learn from other people's mistakes before making them herself
- Find advice organized by life topic — Finance, Home/DIY, Personal Growth
- Read the real stories behind why advice matters, not just the headline wisdom
Tier and Platform
Tessa uses the Free tier on Android. She sees banner ads while browsing but accepts them as the cost of free access. She hasn't yet found a reason to pay — she's still in the "absorbing" phase of using the app, not the "contributing" phase.
