Elara — Aspiring Artist
Tier: Free → Plus (upgrade journey) Platform: iOS Music style: Academic composition
Background
Elara is a college junior studying music composition. She downloaded the app after her professor mentioned that professional musicians follow repeatable processes. She's enthusiastic about the idea but tends to start things she doesn't finish — two of her four tracked songs have been stalled in the "Arrangement" stage for over a week each. She uses the app in bursts: three or four stage transitions in one sitting, then silence for several days.
How She Uses the App
Elara imported the "Songwriting" template on her first day and renamed several stages to match her composition class terminology. She tracks four songs — one completed, two stalled, one just started. She adds detailed notes at stage transitions, capturing musical decisions and professor feedback.
Her upgrade trigger: she creates items on her phone at the practice room and can't see them on her laptop at the dorm. She encounters the sync paywall and upgrades to Plus.
Tier Upgrade Journey
Elara hits the sync paywall when she tries to access "Sync Across Devices" from her Profile tab. She subscribes to Plus, signs in with Apple (her first account creation), and her data upgrades seamlessly via linkIdentity(). Her first cross-device sync confirms her practice room work is visible on her dorm laptop.
What She Values
- Templates as a starting point — she doesn't want to invent stages from scratch
- The ability to customize stage names to match her own vocabulary
- Notes at transitions to capture musical decisions while they're fresh
- Cross-device sync so her academic and practice contexts connect
