Rosa — Busy Home Cook

Background

Rosa is a Latina woman in her early 30s who works full-time and cooks dinner five nights a week, squeezing sessions between soccer pickups and work emails. She is fiercely protective of her family's data — she deleted Yummly after reading their privacy policy. She keeps a mental rotation of "approved" dinners and desperately wants to break out of it.

How Rosa Uses Sizzle

Rosa has 34 saved recipes, mostly imported from Bon Appetit and Serious Eats — zero manual entries. She imports everything by URL, appreciating that the recipe strips clean with no life story or ads.

Her signature interaction is the Dinner Spinner, which she uses 3–4 times per week around 5 PM. She filters to "Under 30 minutes" before spinning, so whatever the wheel lands on, she knows it's achievable on a weeknight. She and her partner use the result as a binding agreement — no more arguing about what to make.

Every Sunday, Rosa selects 4–5 recipes for the week and generates a combined shopping list. Her tagged favorites include "Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas" and "One-Pot Pasta e Fagioli."

She is currently working toward the "Two-Week Flame" achievement — a 14-day cooking streak — and has already earned her 12-day streak badge.

Goals

  • One organized place for all saved recipes, imported cleanly from any URL
  • A fun way to end the daily dinner debate using her actual recipes
  • A shopping list that builds itself
  • Zero data exploitation — no tracking, no ads, no account required

Tier and Platform

Rosa uses Sizzle on the Free tier on her Android Pixel 7. She values the privacy-first approach and hasn't yet found a reason to subscribe — the free tier fully solves her core problems.

What Resonates

The onboarding message "Your recipes, your rules" lands perfectly for Rosa. She noticed and appreciated it. She values that Sizzle doesn't require an account and doesn't track her scrolling behavior. The Dinner Spinner's confetti celebration at 5 PM is genuinely delightful to her — it turns a daily frustration into a small family moment.
