How to Configure Your Morning Sleep Log Reminder
Who this is for: Anyone who wants a daily reminder to log their sleep before the memory of it fades.
Garrett, a long-haul truck driver who wakes up early and logs his sleep about half the time, wants a 6 AM reminder to help him stay consistent.
Steps
- Navigate to the Settings tab using the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap "Notifications."
- Toggle on "Morning Reminder."
- Grant notification permission if prompted — your device will show a system dialog asking whether to allow Better Sleep to send notifications. Tap "Allow."
- Set your reminder time. Tap the time field and adjust to when you typically wake up. The default is 9:00 AM.
- Confirm the setting. The app shows "Morning reminder set for [your time]."
The next morning at your configured time, you'll receive a notification: "Good morning! How did you sleep? Tap to log." Tapping the notification opens the sleep log entry screen directly.
Expected Outcome
A push notification fires each morning at your configured time. Tapping it opens the sleep log entry form pre-filled with defaults so you can log in under 30 seconds.
Notes
- The reminder can be toggled off at any time from Settings → Notifications.
- The reminder time can be changed at any time — the new time takes effect from the next morning.
- On web (no push notifications), the app shows an in-app banner on the Home tab if you haven't logged today.
- The notification respects your device's Do Not Disturb settings — if DND is active at your reminder time, the notification may be silenced depending on your device settings.
