Carlos — Place-Anchored Explorer

Tier: Plus | Platform: Android (OnePlus 12) | Locale: Portuguese (pt)

Background

Carlos is in his early 40s, a Brazilian digital nomad who has lived and worked across four continents. The Whereline is his primary feature — he thinks of his memories as places first and dates second. He captures the sensory details of each location: the smell of street food in Bangkok, the cold of Patagonia, the sound of rain in a Lisbon cafe.

His recording pattern is bursty. He can go weeks without writing anything while he's moving and adjusting. Then an evening in a cafe triggers five entries in two hours — each memory prompting the next.

Goals

  • Build a geographic archive of a life lived across four continents
  • Capture sensory memories (smells, sounds, weather, food) before they fade
  • See his life as a map, not just a list

How He Uses Memoryish

Carlos navigates in Portuguese. The Whereline is his first stop every session — he checks the map to see where he is in his archive's geography before adding new entries. He uses the whereish picker for every memory, almost always at the country or city level. His entity chip bar usage is moderate: a handful of people (Leo, Yuki, Ana) and three major base cities (São Paulo, Bangkok, Lisbon), plus tags like "travel," "food," "adventure," "nature."

He doesn't use journeys — his memories are organized by geography, not narrative arc. PDF export is available on his Plus tier but he hasn't used it yet.

Typical Session

Bursty. Triggered by a specific sensory memory surfacing while in a cafe or on a slow travel day. Three to five entries in one sitting, then nothing for a week or two. Uses the Whereline after each session to see new pins.

Tier Rationale

Plus for unlimited exports — he wants the option to export his archive as a travel record someday — and for the extended prompt library, which helps him articulate sensory memories he'd otherwise struggle to put into words.
