Elena — Family Historian

Tier: Free | Platform: Android (Galaxy A54) | Locale: Spanish (es)

Background

Elena is in her late 40s, living between Phoenix and Guadalajara. She maintains a methodical Sunday ritual: every week she sets aside time to record memories from her two-city life. She's meticulous about tagging — she never leaves a memory without at least one tag. Her archive is a carefully tended record of family traditions, childhood in Mexico, and her adult life in the US.

Goals

  • Preserve family stories across generations before details fade
  • Organize memories around the people, places, and traditions that define her identity
  • Build a structured archive she can share with her children someday

How She Uses Memoryish

Elena primarily uses Quick Entry for her Sunday ritual, often entering two or three memories in a single session. She uses the fuzzy date picker frequently — many of her childhood memories are "sometime in summer" or "late in the year" rather than exact dates. She's a power user of the entity chip bar, linking every memory to at least one person and usually a place.

She navigates in Spanish and uses the Tags tile regularly to audit which memories belong to which theme ("family," "childhood," "traditions," "food"). She hasn't exported yet but plans to create a PDF memory book for her mother.

Typical Session

Sunday evenings, 20–30 minutes. Opens the app with a specific memory in mind. Quick Entry for the first, Save & New for additional entries, then spends a few minutes linking entities. Ends by checking the Tags page to confirm everything is categorized.

Tier Rationale

Elena uses Free because Quick Entry and entity linking cover all her core needs. She's likely to upgrade to Plus when she's ready to create the PDF she's been planning.
