How to Start the App for the First Time
Who this is for: Anyone launching the Bucket List app for the first time.
Theo, a spontaneous freelance photographer, just installed the app and wants to see what happens when he opens it.
Steps
- Open the app. The app launches to the onboarding prompt within 2 seconds.
- No sign-in screen appears. An anonymous Keycloak session is created silently in the background — you'll never see this happen. The app is ready to use immediately.
- See the "Add your first bucket list item" prompt. This simple prompt invites you to type a title and add your first item.
- Add an item or skip. Type a title and tap add, or tap "Skip" if you'd rather explore first.
- Land on the main list view. Your bucket list is ready — all four tabs (All, In Progress, Completed, Upcoming) are visible.
Expected Outcome
The app is fully functional within seconds of first launch. No account, no friction, no sign-in screen. If you added an item during onboarding, it appears in the All tab immediately.
Notes
- The onboarding prompt only appears once. Every subsequent launch goes directly to your list.
- The anonymous session stores your data locally. Your items are safe until you want to move to an account (for ad removal or sync).
