How to Remove Ads with a One-Time Purchase

Who this is for: Free tier users who want to remove ads permanently without a subscription.

Darla, a returning free user, has seen one too many interstitial ads and wants to pay once and be done with it.

Steps

1. Go to Settings via the Settings tab.
2. Tap "Remove Ads."
3. Create an account. Since Darla is on an anonymous session, the app prompts account creation. Choose Google Sign-In, Apple Sign In, or magic link email. This links the purchase to your identity so it's recoverable if you reinstall.
4. Complete account creation. Your anonymous data (all items, tags, sub-tasks) transfers to the new account — nothing is lost.
5. Complete the in-app purchase through the App Store or Google Play flow.
6. Ads disappear immediately. Banner ads and interstitial ads are gone from all screens. Your tier updates to Ad-Free.

Expected Outcome

All ads removed permanently. Your data is intact. The purchase is tied to your App Store or Google Play account so it can be restored on any device.

• This is a one-time non-consumable purchase — you pay once and it never expires.
• If you cancel the account creation or purchase step, you remain on the Free tier with no charge.
• To restore your ad-free purchase after reinstalling: go to Settings → Restore Purchases. Sign in with the same App Store or Google Play account used for the original purchase.
