How to Subscribe for Cloud Sync and Notifications
Who this is for: Free tier users who want their data backed up and synced across devices, or who need reminders for upcoming goals.
Nadia lost her phone and reinstalled the app — all 22 items were gone because she was on Free with local-only storage. She wants to subscribe so this never happens again.
Steps
- Open the fresh install. After onboarding, the app shows an empty list.
- See the upgrade prompt. The app may show a "Restore with Plus" contextual prompt, or go to Settings → Subscribe.
- Review the subscription benefits: cloud sync across devices, push notification reminders for upcoming goals, and no ads.
- Tap "Subscribe" and choose a monthly or annual plan.
- Create an account if you haven't yet — choose Google Sign-In, Apple Sign In, or magic link. Your identity links the subscription and enables sync.
- Complete the subscription through App Store or Google Play.
- Cloud sync activates immediately. If you had previously used the app with an account and sync-enabled tier, your data syncs down to the new device. All items appear with their tags, sub-tasks, and budgets intact.
- Sync status shows "synced" once the download completes.
Expected Outcome
Your subscription is active, ads are removed, and cloud sync is enabled. Your data is backed up automatically going forward. Push notification reminders can be configured in Settings → Notifications.
Notes
- Sync requires the same account to be signed in on all devices.
- Sync status is visible on the main list screen (synced / syncing / pending / error).
- Push notifications (target date reminders, sub-task reminders, engagement nudges) are configurable individually in Settings → Notifications.
- Manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account.
