How to Read the Safety Notice Before Your First Relief Flow

Who this is for: First-time visitors. The notice appears once, before your first relief flow, and this guide explains what it says and why it's there.

The safety notice is a trust moment: the app is honest about its limits before it asks for your reliance. It is a hard requirement for a mental-health tool, and its copy is human-reviewed before production.

Steps

  1. Complete the first onboarding screen. The safety notice is the second screen of your first visit.

  2. Read the notice. It is written in plain language and covers what the app is and is not: it is a self-help tool, not a substitute for professional help or emergency care, and it explains when to seek help. There is no clinical jargon.

  3. Tap the one primary action to acknowledge. One tap — no scrolling agreement, no checkbox maze.

  4. Land on Home. The notice never appears again for this browser.

Expected Outcome

Your acknowledgment is stored in your browser, and the notice never shows again on return visits. A permanent version of the disclaimer is always available at /legal/disclaimer in the app.

Notes

  • If the notice appears again later, nothing is wrong. Acknowledgment lives in a browser cookie. If your browser storage was cleared — privacy cleanup, a shared device, clearing cookies — the notice shows again on your next visit, by design. Re-acknowledge it in one tap; no error, no loop, no lost progress.
  • The emergency rule is always visible. "If you are in danger, call your local emergency number." appears on relief screens — the notice is the first place you see it, not the last.
  • This is not medical advice. If panic attacks are frequent or worsening, the notice — and we — encourage you to talk to a doctor or mental health professional.
