How to Upgrade to Plus
Who this is for: Free-tier users ready for Plus — ad-free use, practice reminders, and next-day check-ins.
Jonas upgraded after about five weeks free: he wanted weekday-morning practice reminders and no ads between meetings. The purchase happens through the web payment provider, and your entitlement is resolved server-side — the app itself never holds your payment details.
Steps
-
Open the upgrade sheet. From Settings, or from a gated feature like Reminders — see reading the upgrade sheet.
-
Choose Plus. Plus is $2.99/month or $29.99/year. The sheet shows both options with the tier's benefits stated plainly.
-
Complete the purchase through the payment provider. The payment flow runs on the provider's side. If your bank declines the card, you'll see a plain-language error — no partial entitlement, no duplicate charge, and you can retry immediately with another card.
-
Start a new session. Your tier is resolved server-side when your session starts. Sign out and back in, or reload, if you're upgrading from the same tab.
-
Confirm your benefits. Ads are gone from Home, reminders are unlocked, and your subscription status shows in Settings.
Expected Outcome
Plus is active: entitlement resolved server-side, ads removed, reminders and check-ins unlocked. Your tier is verified end to end the next time you load the app.
Notes
- Payment details never touch the app. The purchase is handled by the subscription provider; the app receives your tier only.
- Declined cards are a dead end with an exit. A plain-language error, no partial entitlement, no double charge — retry whenever you're ready.
- Cancel is straightforward. Settings → subscription shows your plan and renewal cadence with the cancel path visible — no hidden cancel, no retention screens.
- Pro is the step beyond. See upgrading to Pro for pattern insights.
