How to Browse the Timeline

Who this is for: Anyone who wants to explore their memories in chronological order.

Elena wants to see how her memories are distributed across the decades — some from childhood in Mexico, some from her adult life in Phoenix.

Steps

1. Tap the "Timeline" tile on the dashboard, or tap the Timeline icon in the bottom navigation bar.
2. See your full memory span. The timeline loads in the default view, showing all memories across time. Each memory appears as a marker at its date position.
3. Pinch to zoom in. Place two fingers on the screen and pinch outward to zoom in from the full span to a decade, then to individual years, then to months and days.
4. Pinch to zoom out. Pinch inward to return to a wider view.
5. Swipe left or right to scroll along the timeline.
6. Tap a memory marker to open its detail view.

Expected Outcome

You can zoom from a birds-eye view of your entire archive down to a specific year or month. Memories with fuzzy dates appear at their approximate position. Memories from the same period cluster visually.

Tips

• Tap the filter icon to show only memories from a specific journey. See Filter Timeline by Journey.
• Memories without a date don't appear on the Timeline. Add a date (even a fuzzy one) to any memory you want to see here.
• The Timeline is read-only — to edit a memory, open its detail and tap Edit.
