How to Create a Memory from a Prompt
Who this is for: Anyone who isn't sure what to write about, or who wants a structured starting point.
James stares at a blank page and doesn't know where to start. He taps Prompt Me and gets "Describe a meal that brings back a strong memory." He writes about his mum's Sunday roast.
Steps
- Tap "Prompt Me" on the dashboard (or go to the Prompts tile to browse the full library).
- Read the suggested prompt. It's based on the interests you set during onboarding. If you want a different one, tap "Try Another Prompt."
- Tap "Write Response" (or tap the prompt itself). The memory editor opens with the prompt text shown at the top as context.
- Write your memory. The prompt stays visible as you type. There's no minimum or maximum length.
- Add a title. A short label (or a first line pulled from your text) helps you find it later.
- Optionally add a date, location, or entity links using the fields below the text area.
- Tap "Save." The memory is added to your archive, tagged with the source prompt.
Expected Outcome
Your memory appears in the Memories list. The prompt it came from is stored with the memory and shown on its detail view. If you linked any entities, they're visible on both the memory detail and their respective entity profiles.
Tips
- You can find all prompt-based memories by searching for the prompt text or browsing by category.
- The Prompts tile shows the full library, organized by category tree. Browse there to find prompts on specific topics.
