How to Export Your Memories as JSON
Who this is for: Anyone who wants a complete backup of their memory archive, or wants to use their data elsewhere.
Dorothy wants a full backup of her memories before she gets a new phone.
Steps
- Tap the "Export" tile on the dashboard.
- Select "JSON" as the format.
- Select scope: choose "All Memories" to export everything.
- Tap "Generate Export." Memoryish assembles your complete archive.
- Tap "Share" or "Save to Files" when the export completes. The file is a valid
.jsonfile you can save anywhere — your device, iCloud, Google Drive, or email it to yourself.
Expected Outcome
You receive a single JSON file containing all your memories, entities (people, places, things, tags), relationships, and metadata. It's a complete, portable archive.
Tips
- Free tier has a monthly JSON export limit. Plus and Pro have unlimited exports.
- The JSON format is human-readable and can be opened in any text editor. It's designed to be reimportable if Memoryish ever adds an import flow.
- Export before switching phones or reinstalling the app, even though cloud sync should preserve your data.
